Organic skincare from the Italian countryside
Crafting an effective skincare regimen is essential for maintaining radiant, healthy skin. The secret lies not only in choosing high-quality products but also in using the correct quantities.
Applying too little can result in insufficient nourishment, while excess can waste the product and potentially block pores or cause irritation.
Below, we offer guidance on the ideal amount of various skincare essentials to use.
Typically layer products from the lightest to the heaviest texture (e.g., serum before cream. One exception is that certain face oils get better results as the final protecting step, after a face lotion or cream.)
Tailor product quantity to your skin type, using slightly more for dry skin and slightly less for oily skin.
Apply products gently to avoid stressing the skin.
Let each product soak in before applying the next product.
Higher quality products are packed with more nourishing ingredients, often requiring less amount. (Such as Sole Toscana skincare.)
Adapt the product amount to fit your unique skin needs, especially with changing hormones and seasons, as skincare is highly personal.
It's better to use the guidelines below and complete a morning and evening routine vs. only doing one routine a day and applying more product, which can lead to clogged pores.
A small amount of cleanser is sufficient—a nickel-sized dollop should suffice with most cleanser types.
Overuse, especially with harsh cleansers, can strip away natural oils, leading to dryness, tightness, and other issues. Massage the cleanser gently on damp skin and rinse with lukewarm water.
For mature skin, we recommend a gentle hydrating cleanser that can be used morning and night like Rosewater Wellspring Cleanser.
Serums are typically packed with active ingredients that penetrate the skin easily and require minimal application.
A mere 3-5 drops or a penny-sized amount should cover both face and neck. Apply to clean, damp skin before moisturizing, patting it in softly with your fingertips.
The ultra-thin and delicate skin around your eyes demands gentle, hydrating eye creams.
A pea-sized amount is more than adequate for both eyes, applied with the ring finger to tap and press the product around the eye area, avoiding harsh movements.
For face creams, which are usually denser, about a blueberry-sized amount is necessary to hydrate the face, and another blueberry-sized amount for the neck and décolletage.
Spread the cream with upward strokes, extending it over the jawline as well.
Try Rosehip & Calendula Triple Cream
A few drops of face oil (2-4) can profoundly hydrate and nourish, especially for dry or mature skin. Warm the oil in your hands before pressing it gently into your skin with tapping and upward movements.
Clay masks are excellent for deep cleansing, unclogging pores, and controlling oil.
Apply about a quarter-sized dollop for complete facial coverage, avoiding the eyes. Wait for the mask to soak in and dry (around 10 minutes) before washing it off. Waiting too long can lead to drying out the skin.

Heeding your skin's needs and applying the correct product amount will enhance your skincare results and extend the life of your products. Embrace your journey to a lasting glow!
