All of our products are made in Italy and use natural ingredients from our organic farm. No parabens, no silicones, no SLS or synthetic chemicals of any sort. Non-GMO, certified organic to EU standards (by Natrue), and vegan.

The order of products and amounts can vary a little depending on your on skin’s needs. But, our founder's 4-step routine that she does everyday may help: 

"I use the products both day and night and add a separate SPF for the day time. As we hand-harvest our own plants we get to select only the best ones for our products. So a little goes a long way. 

First, I cleanse with the Rosewater Wellspring Cleanser (if I wore more make-up that day then I'll do a double cleanse with it). The cleanser also has a toner mixed in so I then go directly to treating my skin.

Next, I apply 1/2 of a pump of our Neroli Radiance Serum.  This amount covers my face and neck area. I apply the serum first because it gives my skin the most contact with the serum to do its magic.

Then I apply 1/4 pump of the Espresso Bright Eyes Cream which covers both my eyes. I make sure to cover both of my entire eye areas from the under eyes, to the sides, to the eyelids.  

Last, I apply a 2-finger dab of the Calendula & Rosehip Moisturizer. The moisturizer helps seal in everything plus it helps form a barrier to pollutants."

We’re a 100% cruelty-free business. We never test on animals or allow our products to be tested on animals.

Our products are 100% gluten-free. We do use naturally derived gluten-free Xanthan Gum in some of our products, which comes from wheat but is not a protein. Our gluten sensitive customers love our skincare.

We use naturally-derived preservatives in small amounts to keep the freshness of our products. These ingredients are derived from berries of the mountain ash tree, tomatoes, and sea salt.

Everything in all our bottles and packaging is 100% recyclable and uses recycled inputs (even our shipping boxes). So, whenever a customer is finished enjoying a bottle of Sole Toscana, the person can simply pop it into the recycle bin. All bottles, all packaging, the entire box with shipping materials and all can be recycled.

We are always looking for new options that our customers love, and which are the best choice to show our love to Mother Earth.

It may be surprising to hear that we chose plastic instead of glass, but a lot of consideration went into that choice for us. We try to make everything we do at Sole Toscana as sustainable as possible. 

Glass skin care bottles require extra layers of packaging to comply with labeling requirements and to decrease wasteful breakage. So, for us, glass bottles require 2x the packaging (a box for the glass container in addition to the box it's shipped in). This causes 2x the potential landfill for us (before considering transport).

Glass is also heavier for us to ship from Italy than our plastic bottles (more than 2x the weight). Shipping both from Italy where we make our products and within the United States, glass would mean a much higher carbon footprint. 

Many other companies actually ship their glass bottles cheaply from Asia (and often their ingredients as well). This causes a huge carbon footprint for their products. At Sole Toscana, we would never do that.

Instead, we source everything in our products locally in Italy. We hand harvest our plants at our organic farm, our bottles are from Umbria, and we use solar power in our facilities.  

So please know that we’ve done everything possible to minimize the carbon footprint in every Sole Toscana product.

Looking at everything overall, currently it is far better for us to use our current packaging than to choose glass.
